Cannot select a broadcast station
by preset number.

The unit has lost all preset
information.

Register the broadcast station
again.

There is a lot of noise when
listening to an FM broadcast.

The signal of the broadcast station
being tuned is weak or reception is
poor in your area.

1. Change the orientation of the

antenna.

2. Try setting the FM stereo to FM

mono. (Page 22)

3. Change the FM antenna to a

commercially available outdoor
antenna.

Cannot automatically select FM
broadcast stations.

The signal of the broadcast station
being tuned is weak or reception is
poor in your area.

1. Change the orientation of the

simple antenna.

2. Try setting the FM stereo to FM

mono. (Page 22)

3. Change the FM antenna to a

commercially available outdoor
antenna.

Cannot automatically select AM
broadcast stations.

The AM loop antenna is not
connected correctly.

Connect the loop antenna correctly.

The signal of the AM broadcast
station is weak.

Refer to how to manually register a
broadcast station. (Page 21)

Display says “Station not available”.

Ensure that DAB coverage exists in
your area.

Check that antenna is connected.

I can not access Secondary
services.

At the time of publishing this
manual not many Secondary
services are available, this will
increase as more DAB stations start
broadcasting.

If a Secondary service station
is available, the SECONDARY
indicator will be displayed next to
the station name.

I hear a burbling sound on some
stations.

DAB like other digital media is good
at producing quality audio from a
low level signal, however if this
signal, level is too low a “burbling”
sound can sometimes be heard.

Use the unit’s “Tuning aid” while
repositioning your antenna to get
the maximum signal strength and
reduce this noise.

OPERATING EXTERNAL EQUIPMENT

Symptom

Possible Cause

Resolution

Audio from the external inputs
(AUX1 to AUX3) is not emitted.

The connections to external devices
are incorrect.

Refer to connecting external
devices. (Page 9)

The external device is not in play
mode.

Be sure to play media according to
the manual for the external device.

The input source is incorrect.

Check the input source.

The audio volume of the external
device is low.

Increase the audio volume of the
external device.

The headphone jack has been
mistaken for the AUX1 jack.

Check the connector being used for
the connection.

Noise is being emitted from an
external device.

The cable being used to connect to
external is not connected securely.

Check cable connections.
