Caution
Using a power screwdriver to clamp the clamping screw
will increase the wear on the clamping screw.
The clamping screw must only be clamped manually.
NOTE
Ensure the minimum number of turns
from the clamping point to the stop as
stated in “Table 1: Minimum number of
turns, minimum clamping depth and
permissible transferable torque
” (page
24) is reached. If this is not the case, for
quality reasons stop using HTC clamp-
ing chuck and send for repair.
NOTE
The clamping screw is not captive!
Ensure that the clamping screw is
free of dirt.
Always screw in the clamping screw
tight to the stop.
4. Turn the clamping screw to the stop with
the aid of the appropriate hex-wrench (see
“Figure 7: Clamping tool”).
5. Set a torque wrench to a tightening torque
of
7 Nm
.
6. Tighten the clamping screw to the stop
with the aid of the torque wrench.

RESULT
The tool is now fully clamped in the
HTC clamping chuck and can be used.
4.2
Clamping a tool with a HTC Clamping Chuck with radial tool length ad-
justment
Warning
There are no guards on the machine.
Using the HTC clamping chuck in the machine without guards could
result in serious injuries to the operator.
When using the HTC clamping chuck all guards as per the EC Ma-
chinery directive point 1.4.2.2. must be fitted and the machine area
door must be closed.
