6.7.1 Test Description
Tests performed:
Operate level:
determines the maximum pickup threshold of a time under voltage element.
Time vs. voltage:
determines the operate time vs. voltage for up to seven points.
Input Parameters:
1.
Relay Id:
Six digit numeric identifier for relay.
2.
Voperate:
The expected operate voltage in [Volts]. Range 1.0 – 150.0 V.
3.
tmax:
The maximum time required for the disk to operate in [sec]. Range 0.01 – 999.0 s.
4.
Time dial:
The time dial setting of the relay (optional included for completeness of report).
5.
Vprefault:
The desired prefault voltage in [Volts], Range 0.0 – 150.0 V.
6.
Test #1 @
The test voltage for the first test point of the time vs. voltage test. Range 0.0– 150.0V.
7.
Step
The test voltage to be subtracted for each step of the time vs. voltage test. Range 0.1-
100.0V.
8.
# of steps
The number of test steps to perform for the time vs. voltage test. Range 1 - 7.
Output Results:
Operate level test: Measured operate voltage [V].
Time vs. voltage test: Measured operate time [sec] vs. voltage [V] for up to seven points.

The following example demonstrates the steps required to determine the operate level (maximum pickup
voltage) and operate time vs. voltage for an induction disk style under voltage relay. The relay is set to
pickup for voltages greater than 100V, and the user wants to test the operate time at: 90, 80, and 70V.
