9. Troubleshooting
When the unit does not work properly, check the following before calling a Magnescale Co., Ltd.
Representative for service.
An error occurred in the
measuring unit, and data
cannot be obtained.
⇨
Check the measuring unit status lamps.
Lit red Turn off the system power, reconnect
the measuring unit, and then restart
it.
Check to see if a communication
error is occurring due to the infl ux
of noise or other interference.
An error occurred in the
MG42 hub unit, and data
cannot be obtained.
⇨
Check the link lamp (IN/OUT).
Lit orange Check to see if a malfunction has
occurred due to the infl ux of noise
or other interference.
Lit red Check to see if the same ID number
was set within the system, and if so,
change the ID number.
Off Initialization is in progress. Check
that the ID Number is not set to 0.
Connection cannot be
established (when using
Ethernet).
⇨
• Check to see if the power is turned on.
• Check to see if an Ethernet cable is disconnected.
• Check that the correct Ethernet cable is being used. (See
section 4-6, “Ethernet Connection”.)
• Check that connection is not cut.
• Check that the IP address is correct.
<When you do not know the IP address>
If the IP address is unknown and the connection cannot be
established, make the settings again by temporarily returning
the IP address to the factory setting (192.168.1.100).

1. Turn off the system.
2. Set DIP switch 8 of the communication setting
switches on the MG41 main unit to On.
3. Turn on the system, and connect to 192.168.1.100
from the soft ware.
4. Set the IP address.
5. Turn off the system.
6. Return DIP switch 8 to Off .
7. Turn on the system.
...... Th e system is started at the IP address that was
set in step 4.
