5.3. Securing bolts
Chisels can be rotated. Once these are worn down
on one side, the bolts are unscrewed and the chisel
is turned 180 degrees.
Skids worn down to 5 mm at their ends can be rotated
to extend their service life. To this end, turn the skid
around 180°. Then the skids on the left-hand plough
bodies should be transferred to the right and from
the right to the left, according to the drawing.
If the plough body meets an obstacle, the securing
bolt is cut off. After lifting the plough to replace
the bolt, the body will not return on its own to its
original position. It needs to be turned and adjusted
accordingly. The tightening torque of the sheared
bolts should oscillate between 70 and 79 Nm.
5.4. Gauge wheel
Regularly control the pressure in the gauge wheel. In case of significant air loss, the air valve
should be checked for leaks. The next step is to return the gauge wheel to a specialized
workshop for locating and repairing the defect. Badly damaged tyres (especially damage
to the profile) should be replaced immediately.
Setting the axial play of the bearings.
This should be checked and adjusted every 2 years. It is recommended that this opera
-
tion be performed by a specialized workshop. The recommended clearance is 0.12 - 0.15
mm. Procedure:
•
Disassemble the hub cover and spring loaded cotter securing the crown nut.
