CLEANING & STORAGE
1. Cleaning
Set the variable steam control to “OFF” position, turn the temperature control dial
•
to the position “0”, then unplug the iron. Clean the iron only after it cools down.
Clean the main body with a piece of soft damp cloth.
•
Wipe the soleplate with a piece of soft damp cloth. Steam holes can be cleaned
•
with a toothpick.
Note: do not let the soleplate touch hard objects. Never use a scouring pad, vinegar
or other chemicals to clean the soleplate.
Rinse the water tank with water. Empty the water tank after you have rinsed it.
•
Note: When cleaning the iron, do not immerse the iron in water, or use vinegar or
other descaling agents in the water tank.
2. Self-cleaning
Important:
To avoid that deposited scales cause permanent and irreparable damage to the
•
iron, generally you have to use the self-cleaning function at least once every two
weeks to remove the scale particles from the iron. If the water in your area is hard,
you should use the self-cleaning function more frequently. If doubt to the water
hardness, ask advice of your local tap water company.
Malfunctions caused by scale deposited are not covered by the guarantee if the
•
self-cleaning process is not carried out properly.
Fill water into tank to MAX level, turn the temperature control dial to MAX, plug
•
the iron and wait until the pilot light goes out.
Unplug the iron, hold the iron over the sink. Press down the self-cleaning button
•
all along, there will be steam and hot water come out of the soleplate and scale
particles are flushed out.
Release the self-cleaning button as soon as all the water in the tank has been used
•
up. Repeat the self-cleaning process if the drainage still contains a lot of impuri-
ties.
Plug the iron back into the socket and let the iron heat up to dry the soleplate.
•
Unplug the iron when the temperature light goes out. Move the iron gently over a
piece of used cloth to remove any water stains that may have formed on the sole-
plate. Let the iron cool down before you store it.
3. Storage
After using or cleaning, set the variable steam control to “OFF” position, turn the
•
temperature control dial to the position “0”, then unplug the iron.
Unclose the water filling cover and empty the water tank. Plug the iron back into
•
the socket and let the iron heat up to dry the soleplate.
After the iron cools down, wind the supply cord around the cord storage device,
•
place the iron upright in a safe and dry place.
