FREEZE PROTECTION
It is extremely important to protect your Xtrax™ Xtractor from
freezing. After emptying the machine completely by following
the instructions, tightly secure lids. Attach your Empty-Out nozzle
to the end of your solution hose. Then insert the end of the
Empty-Out nozzle into either the vacuum intake on the back of
the machine or your vacuum hose if it is still attached to the
machine. Next, wrap your hand around the intake and empty
out nozzle so as to form a seal. Then turn on both the pump and
the vacuum for 15 seconds. This will fill the system with air while
placing the water that was remaining internally into the Recovery
Tank. Empty the Recovery tank completely. It is always best to
store your Xtrax™ Xtractor indoors in a heated area! However, if
the machine
must
be stored in freezing temperatures, always
make sure freeze protection instructions are followed.
RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE
1.
Thoroughly rinse the insides of solution and waste tanks
with clean water after each use.
2.
Clean ball float screen in Recovery Tank after each use.
For easy servicing, the Xtrax™ Xtractor has a tank and
handle assembly that is hinged to the base. The tank is
able to pivot away from the base, and in the open position,
the handle will rest on the floor. All inner components are
now easily accessible!
To open the Malco Xtrax™ Model 1200 Xtractor for servicing follow these steps:
A.
Always unplug the machine! Never open until the power has been disconnected. Make sure
Recovery and Solution Tanks are empty and lid is tightly in place!
B.
Unlatch the two front latches.
C.
Tilt the tank back so that the handle is resting on the floor for support.
D.
Check hoses and fittings for leaks. Expansion or contraction can occur with temperature changes.
E.
Tighten any fittings that show signs of leaking.
