Screen Display-ELAPSED TIMER
Description:
Keeps track of the total amount of cooking time. When
activated, the timer counts up in both hours and minutes.
Settings:
Press the RIGHT button on the Pellet Boss® until ELASPED
TIMER is reached. Press the STAR button to start the ELAPSED TIMER.
To stop the ELAPSED TIMER, press the STAR button again. To reset it
to zero, press and hold the STAR button.
NOTE: When the grill is turned off, all timers will reset to (0) zero.
Screen Display-USER 1
Description:
There are (3) three User Programs available for use. Set up
and operation of each individual User Program will use the same
procedure as USER 1. Each of the (3) three User Programs accepts up
to (5) five cooking steps, which will automatically change based on either
time or meat probe temperature.

Press the RIGHT button on the Pellet Boss® until USER 1, 2 or 3 is
reached.
Ÿ
Use the UP or DOWN button to reach SETUP. Press the STAR button.
The word SETUP will flash.
Ÿ
Press the STAR button again. The screen will now display STRT 1.1
SET:SMKE. Use the UP or DOWN arrow buttons to select your desired
starting temperature from smoke to grill.
Ÿ
Press the STAR button to accept your starting cooking temperature.
Ÿ
The Pellet Boss® screen will now display END1.1 SET: NONE. Use the
UP button to choose how the program will advance to the next step by
selecting from NONE, TIME or MEAT PROBE 1, 2 or 3.

If you have selected a MEAT PROBE, you will need to select a
temperature for the probe to reach before the program will advance to
the next step. MEAT PROBE 1 will be flashing. Use the UP button to
select the temperature you want the food you are cooking to reach (IE:
130F). Press the UP button until you reach the desired temperature.
Press the STAR button to lock in the meat probe temperature you want.

If TIME is selected, the TIMER screen will appear. Set the TIMER by
using the UP button to program minutes. Use the LEFT button to select
hours. Use the UP button to select the number of hours you want the
grill to remain at your initial starting temperature. (IE: SMKE for 3:00:00
three hours, no minutes).
Ÿ
Once you have selected either a MEAT PROBE temperature or TIME,
press the STAR button once.
Ÿ
The display will now show STRT 1.2 SET:SMKE. The word SMKE will
be flashing. Go through the same steps as outlined for STRT 1.1

SET:SMKE to select either a MEAT PROBE temperature or TIME
range you wish the second step to operate at. Use this process to set
up steps 1.3; 1.4 or 1.5 if so desired.

To END the program, set END 1.2 to NONE.

Once a USER program has been set up, the Pellet Boss® screen will
display OFF.
Ÿ
To start a program, press the RIGHT button to reach USER 1. Press
the STAR button once. The word OFF will flash.
Ÿ
Use the UP button to reach START. Press the STAR button to accept.
The program will begin to run and change grill temperatures based on
either the MEAT PROBE temperatures or time frames you have
selected for the program.
Ÿ
To STOP a running program, press the RIGHT button to reach USER
1. Press the STAR button once.
NOTE: Programs will not change until you manually overwrite them.
When a program is running, the screen will display the progress of
the sequence by displaying the remaining time left for that
sequence or display the meat probe temperature. When a sequence
change occurs the Pellet Boss® will beep 3 times and display the
new SETPOINT temperature for the program.
NOTE: You can use only (1) one USER program at a time. Once a
program has been set, it will stay that way until you change it.
FOR USER 2 & 3---follow the above steps to program. Descriptions
will be the same for User 2 & 3 as they are in User 1.

ALARMS
Description:
When ALARMS are set and reached, the Pellet Boss® will
sound a loud beep, and the appropriate display screen will flash. The
alarms are programmed to sound for (10) ten minutes before
automatically shutting off.
Settings:
To deactivate an alarm, press any button on the Pellet Boss®.
The Pellet Boss® has (10) ten different alarms. They are:
Fire Alarm:
Description:
This alarm sounds whenever the grill temperature
exceeds100F over the SETPOINT temperature for (1) one minute. Pellet
Boss® display will show FIRE ALARM.
