Using the VPH-20
There are two controls for adjusting/locking the movements
on the VPH-20.
1
The Pan-Lock knob controls
the panning movement.
Turning it clockwise tightens
the tension until it locks
completely. Turning it
counterclockwise loosens
the tension for greater
freedom of motion.
2
The Tilt-Lock knob controls
the tilting movement.
Turning it clockwise
tightens the tension until it
locks completely. Turning
counterclockwise loosens
it for greater freedom of
motion.
3
For panning while shooting, turn the Pan-Lock knob
counterclockwise to release tension and loosen
movement. Use Tilt/Pan bar to adjust camera position.

Unmounting your Camera from the VPH-20
1
To unmount your camera, grasp the quick-release
lever and rotate it 180° so that the flat side presses
against the quick-release plate, and it locks into
place. This will release the plate, and it will pop up.
Slide the plate forward and pull up on it to remove
from the VPH-20. Release the thumbscrew on the
bottom of the plate and remove your camera.
Replace the plate on the VPH-20 by sliding it back
in place under the guides and pressing down firmly
until the lever snaps into the locked position.
5
For tightening or adjusting the Tilt/Pan bar, use
the knob on the front of the VPH-20 clockwise to
tighten and, counterclockwise to loosen and adjust.
Once loosened, the Tilt/Pan bar can be rotated to a
more convenient or comfortable position.
The VPH-20 also features two separate Tension
adjustment knobs that control the tension for the Tilt/Pan
movement. This allows you finer manipulation over the
camera motion.
attaching the VPH-20 to your tripod
1
Your VPH-20 comes with a bushing that
adapts the 3/8 tripod mount to use with
1/4-20 screws.
2
Choose the bushing
that fits your tripod.
Screw one side into the
base of the VPH-20,
and then attach the
VPH-20 onto the tripod.
If you’re using a very
small tripod, you may find it easier to hold the VPH-
20 steady and screw on the tripod.
mounting your Camera on the VPH-20
1
Firmly grasp the quick-release lever and rotate it
180° so the flat side is against the quick-release
plate, and it locks into place. This will release the
plate, and it will pop up. Slide the plate forward and
pull up on it to remove from the VPH-20.
2
Use the thumbscrew on the quick-release plate
to attach it to your camera. Many video cameras
have an additional space that accommodates the
retractable alignment pin on the plate. Take care
that it fits into place. Make sure the thumbscrew is
flush against the bottom of the plate.
3
Once you have securely
tightened the quick-release
plate to your camera,
replace the plate (with the
camera) into the VPH-20 by
sliding it back in under the
guides until it cannot go in any further. Then push down
firmly until the quick-release lever snaps into the locked
position. Be sure to position the plate so that the lens
faces away from the Tilt/Pan bar.
