4.2 Torque Settings

The following sections are instructions for how to assemble your Premium III e-bike straight out of the box. The

following steps are guidelines on the necessary steps, but they are not a comprehensive guide to all aspects of

assembly. We recommend that you consult a reputable, certified bike mechanic to assist with assembly or to

review assembly.

Because manufacturers use a wide variety of fastener sizes and shapes made in a variety of materials, often dif-

fering by model and component, the correct tightening force or torque cannot be generalized. To make sure that

the many fasteners on your bicycle are correctly tightened, refer to the torque specifications in the section.

Correctly tightening a fastener requires a calibrated torque wrench. A professional bicycle mechanic with a torque

wrench should torque the fasteners on your bicycle. If you choose to work on your own bicycle, you must use a

torque wrench and the correct tightening torque specifications provided in this section. If you need to make an

adjustment at home or in the field, we urge you to exercise care, and to have the fasteners you worked on checked

by your dealer as soon as possible.

Correct tightening force on fasteners - nuts, bolts, screws - on your bicycle is important. Too little force,

and the fastener may not hold securely. Too much force and the fastener can strip threads, stretch,

deform or break. Incorrect tightening force can result in component failure, which can result in the

operator’s serious injury.

Unpacking the bike

1. Open the box. Remove the staples from the flaps to prevent injuring yourself. With the help of another person,

carefully remove the Peak T5/T7 from the box. Carefully remove the packaging material from the e-bike. In the

event that the bike needs to be returned, keep the packaging materials in case you want to ship the bike. Remove

the small cardboard box from the bike box and set it aside. The small cardboard box will contain the battery

charger and a pair of pedals.

2. In addition to the Premium III, ensure that the following pieces are included:

a.

Battery charger

  b. Pedals

c.

Battery keys

d.

Seatpost with attached saddle
