
FRONT PANEL CONTROLS

1. Volume/on-off
(Off) Turns the radio ‘on’ and ‘off’. Rotate the control counterclockwise until it clicks.
(Volume) Control to adjust the AF Gain or volume of the receive audio. Turn clockwise to
increase and counterclockwise to decrease.
2. Squelch (SQ)
Used to eliminate background or ‘white’ noise when monitoring strong signals. To properly
adjust the squelch circuit, start rotating the control slowly clockwise until the received white
noise disappears.
3. Display (see pages 2)
The LCD screen is the status display for the majority of the transceivers functions.

4. Channel Selector
Choose a channel to transmit or receive by turning this knob to the left or to the right.
On the microphone is a button UP and a button DOWN to change channels. Each time a
channel is changed a ‘beep’ will be heard.
5. Microphone input
Connector to plug in the microphone.
6. Function Control Button
Push this button for 2 seconds to select channel number or frequency readout in the
display.
7. AM/FM Button (M1)
Push this button to select AM or FM.
8. SCAN Button (M2)
