5.5.1
Drilling with dowel gage
Use the following procedure for drilling
horizontally with the dowel gage:
1.
Place the dowel gage flush with the face of the
workpiece and draw a marking on the left and
the right.
2.
Position the dowel gage at the markings and
clamp it tight.

3.
Adjust to the required distance at the swiveling
guide fence.

4.
Using the swiveling guide fence, bring it flush
into contact with the workpiece.
5.
At the desired position, move the toothed part of
the swiveling guide fence into the gage as far as
it will go, and drill the holes.

Horizontal drilling with the dowel gage
performed.

Use the following procedure for drilling vertically
with the dowel gage:
1.
Secure the ancillary support provided on the
underside of the base plate.

2.
Adjust to the required distance at the swiveling
guide fence.
3.
Using the swiveling guide fence, bring it flush
into contact with the workpiece edge.
4.
At the desired position, move the toothed part of
the ancillary support into the gage as far as it
will go, and drill the holes from the top.
✓
Vertical drilling with the dowel gage
performed.
