The locomotive’s lights are controlled by a constant voltage circuit in the engine. They
are easy to remove and replace when they burn out. See the diagrams and directions
below for instructions on accessing and replacing the light bulbs in this locomotive.

Headlight:
The locomotive’s headlight is controlled by a constant voltage circuit in the engine.
The headlight is easy to remove and replace when it burns out. The bulb has a quick
disconnect plug that attaches the bulb harness to a light circuit. Replacement bulbs are
available directly from the M.T.H. Parts Department.
1. Remove boiler shell by removing the 4 Body Mount
Screws shown in Figure 12.
2. Disconnect wires from inside boiler
3. Unplug light bulb connector
4. Remove bulb from headlight shell
5. Install new bulb in reverse order

Driver Lights
This engine also uses 6 light bulbs to illuminate the drive wheels. There is one
bulb above each drive wheel. A switch under the right side of the cab controls
the lights. The lights can not be controlled by DCS.
Should any of the light bulbs need to be changed, remove the boiler shell as
shown in fig.12. Unplug the burned out bulb pull the bulb from the grommet
that holds the bulb in place. Install the new bulb by reversing the procedure.
