TEAM function
This special function is developed for the pilots flying in the team. Sometime they loose visual contact and using the
Team function they are able to locate each other in a very simple way. To be successful
both pilots have to select
the same point
(APT, TP or TSK). The pilot who is ahead has to explain his bearing and distance
to the selected
point by radio.
The second pilot has to activate Team function (enter) and input the distance and bearing given by
his friend.

After input and ESC the instrument will change over into normal
TP navigation page
and the navigation data will
show where the leading pilot is.
The team function is deactivated
after a new TP is regular

WIND calculation
The LX 7000 is able to calculate wind (direction and speed) under 5 methods all the time. Another method
(COMPASS) is available only after an additional compass unit is connected to the LX 7000 bus. To change the
method of calculation, use this menu as follows.
GS is
the simplest method. The calculation based on ground speed changes affected by wind influence during the
climbing. To get the first result a minimum of two full circles are necessary. The message
WAIT2 or WAIT
1
will
inform the pilot how many circles should be done to get the result. It is very important
to keep the speed constant
(during the climbing) as much as possible to get real results. The pilot is able to adjust the wind using manual
corrections.
POS is
sometimes the best method. It is based on position offset instead of wind during the climbing. To get results
6 turns should be done (
WAIT 6
).
