Warnings:
The examination on the ear canal may only be carried out with the ear funnel
attached. NEVER use without an ear funnel. During use, the ear funnel must not
remain in the ear (skin contact) for more than 1 minute.
The pressure build-up during the pneumatic test must be carried out very carefully
(risk of overpressure and resulting damage).
Use the otoscopes only with LUXAMED® spare parts and accessories.
The otoscope must not be used to shine into the eyes.
Pay attention: the slit for attaching the ear funnels is sharp-edged, risk of injury
When cleaning/disinfecting equipment in patient contact, pay attention to approp-
riate detergents/disinfectants.
Pay attention to personal protective equipment and follow all safety regulations/
warnings.
Always remove the batteries (not rechargeable batteries) before cleaning / disin-
fection. Make sure that no liquid penetrates into the housing.
The use of accessories not listed in the instructions for use may reduce safety.
During application, metal components can get warm near the instrument head.
This is especially true if the device is switched on for a longer period of time. Do
not leave the device on when it is not in use.
Otoscopes do not wait on the patient during use.
Pay attention to any signifi cant risks of mutual disruption that may arise when
using the otoscopes during special examinations or treatments.
In order to avoid or minimize electromagnetic interference between the otoscope
and other devices, please follow the instructions of the other devices.
It can happen that the device unintentionally switches on due to an electrostatic
disturbance from the switched off standby state. The device can then be switched
off again manually or automatically after 3 minutes at any time.
If the patient feels a warming at the contact points during the examination, the
diagnosis must be temporarily stopped and the otoscope must be switched off
to cool down.
Any serious incidents involving the device shall be reported to the manufacturer
and to the competent authority of the Member State in which the user and/or
patient is established.
