Replacing the Flow Cell
When replacing the flow cell, handle it with care. The capillary is
fragile; avoid touching it unnecessarily. Do not force the flow cell
into the receptacle.
1.
Remove the metal plate from the top of the instrument.
2.
Remove the minstac tubing from the clamp and disconnect it
from the instrument.
3.
Remove the flow cell by grasping it at the top with your fingers
and pulling straight up. Do not pull up on the tubing. You can
also use the flow cell removal tool to remove the flow cell.
•
Grasp top of the flow cell with the removal tool by placing
the clamps into the cutouts at the top of the flow cell, as
shown.
•
Pull the tool straight up to remove the flow cell.
4.
Install the new flow cell by correctly positioning it above the
instrument and carefully lowering it into the receptacle. It fits
one way only—note the beveled edge.
Avoid bumping the glass capillary against the instrument or
sides of the receptacle.
Push down firmly on the top of the flow cell on either side of the
tubing using your fingers until the flow cell clicks into place. Do
not press down on the tubing.
5.
Connect the tubing to the instrument, then insert the tubing
into the clamp.
6.
Run Guava® Clean to prime the instrument, followed by easy-
Check™.
