Clear Samples

: This button clears the instrument of all samples in memory.

Save Samples

: Allows saving the sample data to a user-defined file. The

data is saved in a comma delimited (*.csv) file to allow for importing into
other applications.

Print Samples

: Prints the sample data to a printer. If connected to a PC the

sample data will be immediately printed to the default printer.

Spectral Information

The spectral information tab is useful for generating an alpha spectrum for
an unknown sample. This process is slow; essentially the unit adjusts the

threshold and window and takes a reading at each step within the specified
range. The user can choose the beginning threshold, the region width, and

the ending window set points (all in mV). The user also chooses the count
time for each step. When the count time is chosen, the time switch on the

instrument needs to be set to “PC.” If the 3030P is not set to PC control,
the spectral data acquisition time is determined by the setting on the 3030P.

Pressing the “Read” button in the Spectral Information Tab will confirm the
count time that will be used. A table is generated as the data is collected.
