INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the Electric Breast Pump
LOVI Prolactis 3D Soft
! It is a revolutionary breast
pump, created for the mother’s highest comfort.
It has a 3D funnel that mirrors the baby’s suckling process. This is a breakthrough solution – the 3D funnel - unlike
to classic one, not only sucks, but also squeezes the nipple. The funnel surrounds and squeezes the breast evenly, as
baby’s mouth and tongue do, working simultaneously in multiple dimensions. Even, gentle pressure stimulates the
release of prolactin - a hormone responsible for milk production, causing the quick flow of milk, without discomfort.
The LOVI Prolactis 3D Soft breast pump is:
•
fast
, because it can express up to 100 ml of milk in just 10 minutes,
•
delicate
, as the soft silicone funnel adjusts to the breast,
•
two-phased
- reflects the two phases of expressing milk like a baby: stimulation imitates fast suckling movements
of baby stimulating milk production; and deep suckling phase - reflects slower, deeper, efficient suckling of milk.
It is ideal for situations requiring frequent milk expressing. It also provides support for active and working mums
who need alternative ways to feed their babies with breast milk.
LOVI Prolactis 3D Soft is the support in comfortable expresion of milk, without losing the precious time.
NOTE: LOVI brand recommends breastfeeding as the healthiest feeding method. It is recommended to start using an
alternative feeding method only after consulting your medical practitioner, midwife or pharmacist if breastfeeding
is impossible or insufficient.
Breast milk is the healthiest and most valuable food for newborns and babies. It is recommended as sole food given
to your baby in the first six months of his or her life. After six months, it should be combined with solid foods.
NOTE! The breast pump is not intended for expressing milk when a hungry child cannot empty the breast himself or herself,
i.e. in all cases when your milk ducts are blocked.
USEFUL TIPS
When should I use a breast pump?
•
If possible, wait until your lactation stabilize, what usually occurs within 2-4 weeks after birth. Exceptions to this
rule:
•
Your breasts produce too much milk, and they become swollen and hard (breast fullness). Expressing a small
amount of milk before or during feeding can give you a relief and help your baby to grasp the nipple.
•
Your nipple is inverted because of the long interval between feedings.
•
You have concave, flat or damaged nipples (using a breast pump can improve nipple shape).
•
You feel overflow between feeding and do not want to wake the baby.
•
The baby is sick and does not want to suckle.
•
Your breasts produce too little milk, using the breast pump between feedings helps increase milk production.
•
You are working, or you are away from home and want to continue breastfeeding, you should regularly express
milk using a breast pump to sustain the natural process of lactation.
How often should I express milk?
If you temporarily cannot breastfeed, it is recommended that you express milk using a breast pump at least eight
times a day. That will keep your milk production at the appropriate level. In the beginning, it may be difficult for
you to express more milk, but after a few days, you will be able to express more. Even with stable lactation, the
possibility of expressing milk in one session is slighter (30-60 ml), therefore to collect one portion of milk, you may
require several expressing sessions.
