Paramotor & Winch Flights
The Urubu is suitable for both paramotor and winch flights. Accel-
erator-assisted tow launching is not recommended. Be sure to time
your landings accordingly as the weight of the PPG will increase your
airspeed, save your energy for the flare at the end. You are urged to
seek advice and training from professionals in those fields.
Towing characteristics are very similar to all other paragliders.
Brake Lines
You should check your brake lines before each flight. In case of
damage, you have to replace it before flying.
In case of rupture in the air, you will have to use the C risers to
control and land safely your Urubu.
Please do not change the brake range, especially by shortening it!
Folding & Packing /
Maintenance
We don’t suggest any particular packing techniques, however, we
do not recommend accordion folding.
Always avoid folding your wing along the same folds each time. A
glider is properly folded when it can fit in its’ bag. Never store your
wing folded when damp, it will damage the material. Dampness
can also affect the shape of the wing’s ‘wall’ during inflation.
Avoid storage in any high temperature area.
Your Urubu will need a line check every year or 100H.
If you have to replace a line, please do it symmetrically in order to
avoid any unbalance situations.
You will need your glider serviced if you notice a change of behav-
ior (deep stall, lazy inflation...).
Reserve
The reserve parachute should be an integral part of your flying
equipment. Ultra-light weight and low volume models now exist.
We strongly recommend you mount your reserve in the ventral
position and its risers should be connected at the same point as
the wing risers, for the following reasons: the handle is visible
and can be pulled to the right or to the left easier to find and
deploy in an emergency.
Certification
The Urubu is not EN certified. Only the EN 926-1 load test has been
achieved.
The Non certification in flight is a deliberate choice of LittleCloud.
We think this EN certification is not a guarantee of safety for the
pilot. In no case does this certification protect the pilots from fly-
ing incidents/accidents.
These EN Tests are done in calm air with initiated maneuvers which
do not show the behaviors of gliders in real life. Modern gliders are
very collapse resistant and their behaviors after a flying incident in
a rowdy air mass is very far from what EN tests are showing.
We test our gliders in real life for hours and hours in order to evalu-
ate their real capacities and behaviors.
Our quest for performance is always checked by our quest for
safety and very damped reactions in case of flying incidents.
Flying remains an aeronautical activity, the gravity factor is the
same than any aircraft.
Only the pilot, his decisions, and his margins can guarantee a
maximum safety.
Conclusion
We believe that our sport should always be driven by pure plea-
sure. Don’t skip any stages of the process, and before each flight
make sure that you check your mental state, your technical skills
in relation to the day, and the weather conditions.
You should also have your wing serviced if it shows any changes in
handling (reduced speed, inflation feeling different, or parachut-
ing).
Feel free to contact LittleCloud if you have any questions in rela-
tion to the Urubu and its’ use.
