Thank you for choosing to fly the Gyps. It is essential that you read

the manual before flying your wing for the first time.

Please ensure that the manual always remains with the wing, espe-

cially if it is passed on or sold.

The manual outlines the technical specifications for each model,

the recommendations for use and some important points for your

safety. If you have any queries on anything that you feel hasn’t

been covered in the manual, please contact your dealer, instruc-

tor or refer to our website  : www.littleCloud.fr

You can also visit our LittleCloud facebook page, or contact us di-

rectly at [email protected]

The design approach is very unique and new to this sport, focusing

on pleasure and safety.

Enjoy your flying, and never neglect your safety.

The Gyps :

The Gyps is a high performance glider with an aspect ratio close to

7. She’s dedicated to experienced pilots who are able to deal with

such a high AR glider. During development we focus on safety and

keeping it at a very high level despite the large AR. For example,

we decided to skip nylon rods on the tips after the last open cell.

This helps to reduce stuck cravates. The Gyps is a pure 3 liner. The

handling is incredible, pitchless, bity, very heavy to stall. She’s of-

fering a very good feeling of the airmass through the brake lines.

Like many modern gliders, collapses are pushed pretty far away,

but they can happen at some stage when the air is very naughty.

We think it’s too easy to put yourself into this naughty air because

the glider can handle so much turbulence... Although the passive

safety is quite high, and reactions are very predictable, we feel

more comfortable to dedicate the wing to pilots who have enough

experience to avoid or deal with these conditions.

Risers :

The risers are equipped with an accelerator system which allows

the A & B risers to be shortened without altering the length of the

C risers. Note that during accelerated flight the angle of attack is

reduced, hence the chance of a collapse increases.

Note that it is possible to pilot the Gyps with the C risers, instead

of the brakes. Recommended for experienced pilots only, since a C

stall could be initiated.

First Flight :

Before each and every flight you must make a mental check that

your experience, equipment and conditions are appropriate for the

flight you are about to make. Never hesitate to ask your dealer /

instructor for advice. As an EN D pilot the checklist procedure and

preparation of your glider must be automatic. EN rules force us to

go through these elements... sorry about that!

First flight check-list :

•

Check that your harness, helmet and reserve are in order.

•

Prepare the wing on the ground, checking that the lines and risers

are clear with no twists.

•

Check the attachment points to the glider, take the controls and

check there are no twists.

•

Check the launch area, air space, and that the conditions are

suitable for inflation and launch.

•

If there is no wind, use a forward launch (elbows close to the

body). The reverse launch should be used when possible. The

Gyps has virtually no pitch, so it is unlikely to overshoot when

launching. Before launching, inflate the wing for one final check.

•

Avoid braking too hard when inflating the wing, instead, use for-

ward momentum to launch the wing, once the wing has achieved

enough speed you can then adjust with the brakes if necessary.

During your first flight you should keep plenty of distance from the

hillside, while testing the reactivity of the controls during your first

turns. You will get a feeling for how reactive the glider is, as wel as

its sink rate in relation to the tightness of the turns.

Important: Practice ground handling as much as possible, not only is

it good fun, but it’s the best way to get a feeling for the inflation and

reactivity of your Gyps in flight. Frequent ground handling will lead to

a more relaxing launch and feeling more comfortable in the air.

Harness :

The Gyps can be flown with any approved harness with a minimum

carabineer distance of 43cm . We want to remind you that flying

with a cocoon harness requires some experience and is not recom-

mended for new pilots.
