install adjustable tie-down straps as follows:

If necessary, clip the adjustable buckle end of the
tie-down straps to the saddle on the stanchion
(Fig.17A)

Pair the other end of the tie-down straps
(Fig.18A)
with loose saddles
(Fig.18B)
then move them towards the
front of the boat. Adjust the tie-down straps for length
if necessary.

Using a non-permanent marker, mark the location of
the saddles’ mounting holes.
