T

his upgrade is made using kit 6-22957
which is for a Lionel F3. The removal

and installation of the coupler is the same,
only  the  wiring  is  slightly  different.  Refer
to  the  instructions  included  with  the
upgrade  kit.  With  the  cab  removed,  begin
by  replacing  the  old  coupler  as  shown  in
the upgrade kit instructions. Route the cou-
pler leads through the frame following the
same path taken by the truck pickup wires.

Once  the  wires  are  routed,  install  the  coil
coupler leads into the white 2 pin connec-
tor  included  with  your  upgrade  kit.  See
illustration  below  for  correct  installation.
Plug  the  connector  into  the  main  circuit
board at the location shown. Finally, make
sure  the  wires  are  clear  of  the  motor  and
the  truck  guides.  Neatly  bundle  them
using  twist  ties  for  added  protection  and
reinstall the cab.
