Using your powered and non-powered locomotives’ ElectroCouplers in
the non-Command environment
T
he front of your powered locomotive and
the rear of your non-powered locomotive
are equipped with ElectroCouplers. To
uncouple rolling stock from these couplers
in non-Command environment, you must
rely on a piece of rolling stock equipped
with Lionel magnetic couplers. Couple the
rolling stock directly to the ElectroCouplers.
The magnetic coupler on the rolling stock
will react to the magnetic field generated by
a Lionel Remote-Control Track section
(available separately, 6-65530 for O gauge,
6-65149 or 6-12746 for O-27 gauge). To
uncouple the cars, place your rolling stock’s
coupler “trigger disc” over the central coil
of a Remote-Control Track section and press
UNCOUPLE on the controller. The magnetic
field pulls the disc downward, and the
coupler opens.
See page 11 to see how to release the
couplers in Command Control.
Your locomotives’ ElectroCouplers will NOT open manually or by using a
Remote-Control Track section.
