Water and Wastewater Aerator
If the type of aerator you have purchased requires installation or assembly prior
to commissioning, please observe the enclosed installation instructions. These
instructions must be read and followed first.
The aerator was manufactured to circulate and aerate water or waste water.
Any other use is fundamentally excluded and prohibited.
A professional inspection before commissioning must ensure that the required
electrical protective measures are in place. A residual current circuit breaker
(FI) with a tripping rated current of up to 30 mA is mandatory. The voltage
specified on the unit type plate must match the existing mains voltage. In
standard design, all units are delivered completely connected and ready for
operation. All units are equipped with motor protection (thermal overload
protection) (either as a motor protection plug at the end of the cable or as a
thermal sensor in the motor winding). If you have purchased units without motor
protection or with a free cable end at your own request, the motor protection
and/or plug must be fitted by a specialist before commissioning.
Attention! Rotating impellers!
Always disconnect the mains plug before carrying out any work on the aerator!
Otherwise there is a risk of injury!
Electrical Connection
The connection of the “
Aqua-Whee”l
to an electrical supply should be made as with
any other water-circulating pump. It is essential to use an ELCB. Repair of the
electrical connection or motor (after the expiry of the manufacturer’s warranty)
should only be carried out by the manufacturer or a qualified electrician.
Assembly
Do not connect the unit to the electrical connection on site before assembly!
For transport and packaging reasons, we deliver the aerator in two parts:
Float and motor assembly complete with cover.
The assembly is done in a few simple steps. All you need is a 13 mm open-
ended spanner and the enclosed 30 mm open-ended spanner.
a) The front of the "Aqua-Wheel" aerator is where the single, large carrying
handle of the float is located. Please turn the complete frame (motor part with
cover) so that the highest point of the cover is at the front. The shaft ends then
protrude to the left and right over the float.
The frame can be moved on the float in the guide. The holes in the frame must
match the holes in the guide on the float.
If you fix the frame in the front setting, the unit runs with the smaller circulation
capacity - the rear setting is the normal capacity of the unit.
To fix the motor part on the float, you must first remove the cover. To do this,
loosen the wing screws at the front and back of the cover. The cover can then
be removed. Now insert the four long screws (90mm, two on each side) and
tighten the nuts with a spanner (do not forget the washers and spring washers).
b) The impellers are supplied loose. They only have to be put on the shaft
ends. The 0.55 kW unit has one wheel on each side, the 1.1 kW unit requires
two wheels on each side.
Please note that the open sides of the blades must always face forwards! The
impellers must be mounted in the same way!
With the aid of the 30 mm open-ended spanner, you must tighten the nuts on
the impellers and thus secure the wheels on the shaft.
The unit is now fully assembled and can be put into operation.
c) The 1.1 kW unit also contains a spacer at the back of the U-float. This part
must not be removed.
First use
a
) Ropes are needed to secure the Aqua-Wheel in its position. To fix the device,
attach the ropes to the designated attachment points on the corners of the float or
on the grab handles. Make absolutely sure that the ropes or cable do not come into
contact with the paddle wheels. The anchorage points of the ropes should be
approximately level with the water surface. Lay the power cable in such a way that
damage is avoided.
b) Check the direction of rotation. The mounted motor protection plug is equipped
with a phase inverter. If the paddle wheels turn the wrong way round, please pull
the plug out of the socket. At the front of the plug you can then simply swap two
current-carrying poles with a screwdriver. This corrects the direction of rotation
