TEST PROCEDURE

1. Turn engine off.

2. With the 3/8" nut driver or socket wrench,

loosen the screws on the left and right
sides and bottom of the alternator wrap-
around. See Figure F.1.

3. With the 5/16" socket wrench, remove the

four screws from the alternator cover. See
Figure F.1.

4. Remove the alternator cover and wrap-

around. Be careful to clear the leads.

5. Locate and lift the brushes off of the rotor

slip rings. See Figure F.1.
