Figure 4 (Note 3)
Fully lower the Top/Hood. Fold the two Windscreen Frame
toggle catches (13) rearwards to prevent them from dama-
ging the Rear Window. Roll the Rear Window and Top/Hood
material forward over the folded Top/Hood. Position and
secure the two Retaining Straps (14), (Note 4).
Replace the Sun Visors and return the Seat Back-Rests to
their original positions.
Fit the Top/Hood Cover or Tonneau Cover.
Notes
1. Not all MGB’s were fitted with Sun Visors.
2. Tilting the Seats is really only necessary if you have them
rather far back on the rails.
3. That Bar running in front of the folded Top/Hood is the
Tonneau Bow, which is fitted before the Half-Tonneau. If
you do not recognize it, then possibly you do not have
one – it was probably lost by a previous owner. It‘s not a
terribly important piece.
4. Many cars no longer have these straps due to their remo-
val during restoration work.

Our products are carefully manufactured according to origi-
nal patterns to ensure the best possible fit.
If the supplied soft top does not fit exactly, this may be due
to the following reasons:
• The vehicle dimensions have changed due to repair or
restoration.
• The type or arrangement of the attachment points has
been changed.
• The soft top linkage is distorted.
• The position of the windscreen frame or the side windows
is not correct.
• The side windows are not in the correct position.
• The part supplied is not suitable for your vehicle type.
Important note
Mount the supplied part provisionally to check the fit. It is im-
portant that the fabric is well warmed up before you stretch
it. If the canopy is stretched cold, it will sag on the first hot
summer day at the latest. Take care to handle it gently to
avoid damage or soiling. Under no circumstances should you
cut the fabric in any way, mark it or apply glue to it. We only
accept returned items in their original condition, i.e. not cut,
soiled, marked with adhesive or altered in any other way.
If difficulties arise during assembly, ask us for advice. Our
experts will be happy to help you.
We recommend having the installation carried out by a
specialist workshop.
Installation and care
of fabric and vinyl tops
Care of the plastic discs
Plastic discs should be cleaned regularly. Loose dirt parti-
cles should be removed carefully. Then wash the discs with
clear water or mild soapy water. Use a soft sponge or cloth,
never a hard brush or scouring pad. Sunlight, in combination
with other environmental influences, will affect the clarity of
your plastic pane. To maintain the original condition for as
long as possible, be sure to clean regularly.
• Under no circumstances: use aggressive cleaners,
Use only clear water and a mild detergent.
• Under no circumstances: use commercial vinyl care pro-
ducts or glass cleaners.
These usually contain alcohol or silicone, both chemicals
attack the plastic panes.
• Under no circumstances: rub the plastic windscreen dry,
this will definitely cause scratches.
• Under no circumstances: store the soft top with dirty win-
dows, this will definitely cause scratches.
• Under no circumstances should the soft top be stored
in a damp place, as this will result in mould stains and
mildew.
Please follow the vehicle manufacturer‘s instructions regar-
ding folding and stowing the assembled soft top. Carry out
all necessary actions in the correct order, otherwise the soft
top may be damaged. We must reject claims for compensati-
on against us for damage resulting from incorrect operation
or inadequate care.
