Diesel baggage railcar
Information on the original:
In 1930, the German Imperial Railway Company procured three baggage railcars powered by
diesel engine with the fleet numbers 10 001-10 003. They were earmarked predominantly for
fast transport of general cargo. Initially given a red brown livery, the cars had the same drive
concept as, for example, the railcar in the VT 857-859 class, which was also manufactured by
the carriage factory in Wismar.
The cars were fitted with a driving bogie and a running bogie. The engine was fitted with the
gears directly on the bogie. The power transmission was effected by means of coupling rod
and jackshaft.
All three railcars came to the DB and were re-designated VT 69900-902. The last railcar was
decommissioned in 1962.
Putting your model into operation
Carefully remove the railcar in the blister pack from the box. Then open the blister pack as
shown in the example in
Fig. 1a / 1b, remove the railcar and place it on the rails. The direct
current model is suitable for a maximum voltage of 14 volts, the alternating current variant can
either be run analogously on 16 volts or digitally. Allow the railcar to run backwards and for-
wards at about half voltage for a few minutes. The railcar is then ready for use.
