6. Optical Platform Ass’y
This platform is where all laser beams passage from the diode source to the laser
apertures (Port 1 and Port 2) are divert and generated it. It consists of four
shutter motors, reflected mirror, power detector module, aiming module, micro-
switches, coupling lens, and two laser apertures.
There are four shutter motor modules and two which are used for the mirror
reflection purpose or divert the laser beam passage. The others are mainly used
for the laser beam blockage during off time or standby mode. All the motors are
constantly monitored by the system to ensure their integrity during the misfiring
of laser beam. The motor voltage specification is 12VDC and nominal applied
voltage is around 3.3VDC. Two micro-switches are acting as the position
feedback signal for the system acknowledge. The four micro-switches signal and
motor voltage wirings are connected back to Main PCB.
Power detector is acting as feedback signal to the Main PCB. The nominal
voltage is about 0-1.5VDC where it depending on the amount of energy.
Two fiber holder micro-switches are used to prevent the misfiring laser beam
while no deliver fiber is attached to the laser aperture.
