THERMOSTAT OPERATION
The air conditioning unit is controlled by an indoor thermostat. If you have recently moved into your home, take
some time to familiarize yourself with operation of the thermostat. There are various designs of thermostats
(mechanical, electronic, programmable, etc.), but they all work basically the same.
Typical Thermostat
Thermostats have three to four modes of operation. They are:
OFF - In this mode the house will not be heated or cooled, regardless of inside temperature.
HEAT - In this mode the house will be heated if the desired temperature is higher than the actual inside temper-
ature.
