Brakes
The brakes lock the rear wheels to secure the LEVO LCEV Kid & Junior and prevent
unintended movement.
Push both brake levers forwards to lock the brakes.
The efficiency of the brakes is dependent on tyre pressure and profile which should be
checked regularly.
Caution: Wet tyres or surfaces also have a detrimental effect on brake efficiency.
When altering the position of the wheel axle, be sure to re-adjust the brakes.
10.1.
Adjusting the brakes
The wheelchair should be unoccupied when dismantling the brakes. Secure the
wheelchair in such a way as to prevent it moving when the brakes are removed.
Release the brake as much as possible.
Release the cylinder screw on the brake itself (see figure below left).
Adjust the position of the brake and leave a gap of approx. 15mm between the brake
shaft and the tyre, then tighten the cylinder screw (see figure above right).
Test that the brakes function correctly afterwards.
