Chapter 6 Known issues
Unclear or fuzzy image
When using a Lenovo ThinkSystem 1x8 Analog KVM Switch, 1754-A1T, together with any VGA
based display in a rack, users may see on various resolutions unclear or fuzzy images as well as
artefacts on the display.
Solution
This issue has been resolved with a re-designed Lenovo ThinkSystem 1x8 Analog KVM Switch,
1754-A1T, which can be ordered with CRU part number 02YH036.
This issue is fix on fail, that is the KVM will only be replaced when the described issue is
observed and confirmed.
Unexpected blinking of an attached display
When installing a new server into a rack with any display and a ThinkSystem 1x8 Analog KVM
Switch, 1754-A1T, users may notice that the display which is attached to the ThinkSystem 1x8
Analog KVM Switch will unexpectedly blink.
Information
This issue is not very often observed. It mainly occurs when a server's power cord is hot plugged
whilst the server is up and running and the ThinkSystem 1x8 Analog KVM Switch is attached to
the same power source than the server.
This issue is mainly observed when the configuration of the servers in a rack is frequently
changed.
The display will resume to function normally after 1 to 2 seconds after the device is plugged in.
The root cause of 1754-A1T unexpected blinking screen phenomenon is due to the power surge
when plugging in the power cord of the server into the same AC power source as the KVM is on.
This issue is not observed during normal server reboot or power cycle.
This is a permanent restriction.
