5. Remove the two thumbscrews, press the cover-release button, and slide the cover backward to remove
the server cover.

Attention: For proper cooling and airflow, install the server cover before turning on the server. Operating the
server with the server cover removed might damage server components.
Removing and installing hardware
This topic provides instructions on how to remove and install hardware for your server. You can expand the
capabilities of your server and maintain your server by installing or replacing hardware devices.
