Replacing the 2.5-inch storage drive in the secondary storage drive bay

To replace the 2.5-inch storage drive in the secondary storage drive bay, do the following:

1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,

disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the
computer.

2. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the computer cover” on page 88.

3. Remove the front bezel. See “Replacing the front bezel” on page 88.

4. Remove the optical drive. See “Replacing the optical drive” on page 104.

5. Locate the 2.5-inch storage drive you want to replace. See “Computer components” on page 31.

6. Disconnect the signal cable and the power cable from the 2.5-inch storage drive. See “Parts on the

system board” on page 35.

7. Press the retaining clip

in the direction as shown and pivot the drive bay assembly upward at the

same time.
