Basic troubleshooting
Use the basic troubleshooting information to find solutions to problems that have definite symptoms.
Symptom:
The server cannot detect the connected storage array.
Actions:
1. Ensure that the rear I/O modules are secured to the chassis and connected to the connectors on the
rear of the backplane.
2. Ensure that the SAS signal cables are securely connected to the correct connectors on the rear I/O
modules.
3. Ensure that the SAS signal cables are securely connected to the correct connectors on the RAID
card or Host Bus Adapter installed in the server.
4. Check the power-status LED on the front panel. If the LED is not lit in green, do one or all of the following:
• Disconnect and reconnect the power cords.
• Remove and reinstall the power supplies.
5. Connect the storage array to the server again and check if the server can detect the storage array.
6. Check the status LEDs on the rear I/O modules to ensure that the rear I/O modules are working normally.
Symptom:
The color of some LEDs on the front panel indicates potential system errors.
Actions:
1. Ensure that the ambient temperature is within the required range of the storage array.
2. If the power-status LED is not lit in green, check that:
• The power cord is working correctly.
• The power supply is working normally. Replace the power supply if necessary.
