Microscope functions can be controlled from the
external control panel.
This is done using:
1. The touch screen (2.1)
for adjusting microscope components and
methods, as well as programming the function
keys.
2. The variable function keys (2.3, 2.4),
which can be assigned the most frequently
used functions.
3. The focus dial (2.5, 2.6)
for coarse and fi ne focusing.
4. The smart module (2.7, 2.8)
for moving the stage.
5.1 The Touch screen
After the device is switched on, the display shows
the current microscope status. The display and
functions that can be operated using the touch
screen depend on the features of the individual
microscope and its accessories.
The meanings of the most important pictograms
are listed in the Appendix
→
p. 28.
The display shows various levels of operation:
Level 1: Navigation bar
Level 2: Menu bar
Level 3: Control panel fi eld
When you select a pictogram in the navigation
bar (on the left-hand border of the display), the
corresponding menu bar (on the top border of the
display) is shown. The display in the control pan-
el fi eld changes accordingly. For some functions,
an additional information fi eld appears above the
operating keys.
