10.1 Definition of specimen
To ensure traceability of results the specimen resp. flask in use can be defined. By default the name of the
flask is based on the cell line, user and plasmid defined for the flask. All acquired images/t-lapse recordings
are based on the flask name.
After successfully logged-in as user or administrator you can define your specimen resp. flask.
Activate specimen icon. A control panel pops-up which allows to specify the specimen
Insert name of the cell line. You can use a predefined cell line from the pull-down menu or you can create
your own name
Optional: insert plasmid name
Optional: insert passage #
Optional: insert comment
Note:
The naming of the flask is based on the information provided above. You can always overwrite the default nam-
ing of the image.
The auto-naming system provided by PAULA allows easy traceability of results and convenient search for re-
sults. Component of the auto-naming are following abbreviations. This makes it easy to identify the type of data
in the Data View.
F: Flask
T: Time lapse
I: Image
Defining the flask/ specimen is mandatory for subsequent cell-based assays
