In addition, the TILT (plumb indicator) LED on the receiver gives direction:
• If it’s flashing green, the dipper stick is too close to you
• If it’s solid green, the dipper stick is plumb
• If it’s flashing red, it’s too far from you
Both the receiver and the remote have menus, enabling you to scroll
through menu choices to change settings. The menu choices are indi-
cated by the position of the LEDs. You can change some settings from
the receiver; you can change all the settings from the remote.
Important:
Changing the communication channel on just the
receiver or the remote display will cause non-communication
between the two units. Always change the channel on both units,
starting with the remote display.
7.1 Changing the settings using
the remote display
Before you are able to enter the menu mode on the display, the
receiver must be

As soon as you turn on the remote display, the signal from the receiv-
er will be detected. Both green LEDs (the on-grade and plumb indi-
cators) will light if there is no communication between the remote dis-
play and the receiver . (See Troubleshooting section)
The remote displays the same 7 or 9 channels of grade information
as the receiver, plus LED plumb indicator arrows that show which
way to move to straighten the dipper stick.
To enter the menu mode, the display must be turned off.
LEDs indicate grade direction: The blinking LEDs point in the direc-
tion to move the cutting edge to reach grade.
There are 7 indicators, or channels of information in coarse mode,
and 9 indicators in fine mode.
Slower-blinking LEDs are an out-of-beam indication (receiver has
moved beyond the reception range). The LED arrows show the direc-
tion to move the bucket or blade to pick up the laser beam again.
Plumb indicator: the LED arrows on the remote indicate direction to
move to straighten the dipper stick.
