Leica HM500/Ref. 10 715 697/Version B
Carrying out white balancing
Basically the camera has been designed for the normal
lighting conditions of an operating room. However, if
color problems occur you can carry out white balanc-
ing yourself.
Never carry out white balancing when the instrument
is being used, but always before!
Do not carry out white balancing until the lamp has
been switched on for 5 minutes and has reached its
optimum operating state.
➩
Using the Leica HM500 footswitch, zoom to the maximum
position (Tele)
➩
Focus the camera on a flat white object.
➩
Hold the "Camera on" button (35) of the footswitch down (for
about 10 sec.) or hold down the "Camera on" button (49) of the
Dental databox until an acoustic signal is heard.
This activates white balancing.
➩
Keep the button held down for 5 sec. or so until a slight fall in
brightness is noticed in the camera image.
➩
Release the button and remove the white object.
This completes white balancing.
Keep focusing on the flat white object throughout the
process.
