2.7 Configure sensors & inputs
2.7.1 Occ sensors
When occupancy sensors are programmed at the S-MIO or configured at the DTM-MA, they are
assigned to occupancy sensor ports (e.g., occ1, occ2) and areas. All occupancy sensors in an area are
used to determine occupancy/vacancy. When an area's occupied/vacant status changes, this is called
an 'event'. Occupancy events occur when the area has been declared vacant and any sensor reports
'occupied'. Vacancy events occur when the area has been declared occupied and all sensors report
'vacant'. If areas are combined by opening walls, sensors in the combined areas are handled as if they
are all in the same area.
A preset activated as the result of an occupancy/vacancy event can be manually overridden by a user.
The user-selected preset will remain active until an occupancy/vacancy event occurs. For example, if
the occupied preset is Preset 1 and the vacant preset is Off, while 'occupied' is being reported by the
sensors, a user may activate Preset 5. Preset 5 will be active until the sensors report 'vacant'.
Occupancy and vacancy events can be configured to activate presets or do nothing. If motion is
detected within 15 seconds of a vacancy event, the previously active preset will be restored rather than
the occupied preset.
