Example 1: Port gpi1 is a maintained active low signal (set during input signal configuration) from a
fire alarm. Set the on action for port gpi1 to 'Emerg On'. Set the off action for port gpi1 to 'Emerg
Off'. When the signal is low, emergency mode begins, setting all lights at full. When the signal is
high, emergency mode ends.
Example 2: Port gpi2 is an active high toggling momentary (mom2). If you want auto-sequencing to
start on one pulse and stop on the next pulse, set port gpi2's on action to 'Start autoseq' and set its off
action to 'Stop autoseq'.
Example 3: Port gpi3 is an active low one-shot momentary (mom1). If you want Preset 1 to be
activated every time the signal pulses low, set port gpi3's on action to 'Go to Preset 1' and set its off
action to 'none' since there is no off action associated with a one-shot momentary.
Example 4: Ports gpi4 and gpi5 are active low one-shot momentary signals (mom1) connected to push
buttons 4 and 5. If you want button 4 to start LightsOut and button 5 to stop LightsOut, set port gpi4's
on action to 'Start LtsOut' and gpi5's on action to 'Stop LtsOut'. Set the off actions of both ports to
'none'.
Example 5: Port gpi1 is a maintained active low signal used to enable/disable all occ sensors in the
system. Set the on action for port gpi1 to 'OccSns On' and the off action to 'OccSns Off'. When the
input signal is low, all occ sensors will be enabled. When the signal is high, they will all be disabled.
2.7.2.1 Occ sensors as general purpose inputs
Typically, occ sensor inputs are defined as 'occ ports' (occ1, occ2, etc) and these apply to the occ
sensor configuration parameters for occupied and vacant presets, per area. Alternatively, occ sensor
inputs can be defined as general purpose inputs. Each sensor can then have an associated 'on' and 'off'
action.
Example: You want an occ sensor to turn off lights at the north end of a large space (one area) when it
is unoccupied. Define preset 18 for that area to only includes zones for the north end and set those
zones off. Define the occ sensor input for the north end as gpi1 and set it's on-action to none and it's
off-action to Preset 18.
2.7.3 Daylight Sensors
When daylight sensors are programmed at the DTM-MA or S-MIO, they are assigned to daylight
sensor ports (e.g., day1, day2). The DTM-MA can then configure those sensor ports to affect selected
zones in an area. These zones will be dimmed when daylight is bright, saving energy. The zones to be
dimmed by a daylight sensor are the 'included' zones in the sensor's configuration. Unchecked zones
are not affected by the sensor.
Example 1: Zones 1 and 2 are near windows, as is a daylight sensor programmed as port 'day1' on the
S-MIO. Configure day1 so that only zones 1 and 2 are included. Store presets when it is dark or the
windows are covered. When daylight is bright, zones 1 and 2 will automatically dim as needed,
matching the levels set for presets.
