uniT DESCRiPTion
The Miro Decorator DRD5 Wireless House Scene Controller provides instant
recall of five user-recorded lighting scenes (or presets) across the entire
house. The DRD5 is a whole-house controller. It is used in combination with any
number of Miro Decorator wireless dimming or non-dimming devices.
The DRD5 can be differentiated from a Wireless Room Scene
Controller by the icon on its front, which resembles the outline of a
house exterior.
Typical locations for installing Miro Decorator wireless scene controllers are
inside the front door, the door from the garage, and the master bedroom. With
two or more controllers, you can control up to ten scenes in the house (see
OPERATION section). You can install additional house scene controllers to
control those scenes from other locations in the house.
The Miro Decorator wireless house scene controller works as part of a Miro
Decorator wireless system. It can control a variety of Miro Decorator wireless
devices including dimmers, switches, appliance plugs and lamp plugs to create
up to five scenes. For example:
• Set the house to sleep, turn lights off downstairs but leave low-level pathway
lighting for the kids to find the bathroom.
• Light up the whole house for a party setting.
• Create a lighting trail to get you through your morning and evening routines,
turning on the lights in dressing rooms, hallways and the kitchen, and perhaps
a TV or radio so you can listen to the news.
Note: To control a single room, use a Miro Decorator wireless room scene
controller (a wall mounted DRD6 or a handheld MRH6G remote).
Miro Wireless
Miro wireless devices use radio signals to communicate with each other to
control lighting and other types of electric loads in selected areas. Miro wireless
devices use the 900MHz band for high-speed control communication. Using the
patented “frequency-agile” Top Dog™ technology, Miro wireless devices avoid
interference with other 900MHz devices, such as cordless phones and baby
monitors.
