PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Cargo Lift Elite designs are double-beam with a lower-mounted lift head.
The Cargo Lift Workhorse designs are also double-beam, but with an upper-
mounted lift head. Neither is a platform lift, and neither is a residential
elevator. These three product families—
cargo lift
,
platform lift
and
residential
elevator
—are differentiated by their design, build and intended functionality.
Accordingly, the design and build of each of these product families is
controlled by different criteria; and, each product within these families should
only be operated according to its design criteria.
It is very important for each product owner to accept responsibility for safe
operations in the use of her/his lift product; therefore, it is important to read
and heed the safety instructions provided in this manual, always. Design and
build considerations in the cargo lift properly accommodate its intended
functionality—cargo transport, but NOT human passengers.
A cargo lift is designed to move between two or three levels of a structurally
sound building. It is typically mounted outside the structure, and typically not
in an enclosed runway. This external mounting is one of the physical
distinctions that separate the
cargo lift
from the
residential elevator
that is
typically mounted within an enclosed runway with lockable doors protecting
the hoist way from unintended human intervention. A
platform lift
is mounted
with its own physical distinction.
