GETTING STARTED
ASSEMBLY
IMPORTANT
This lawnmower is shipped without oil or fuel in the
engine.
Your new lawnmower is mostly assembled but some
parts are left separate for shipping. All the necessary
nuts, bolts, washers, etc., are in the parts bag. For
safe operation, ensure you securely tighten all
assembled parts using the right tools.
1. REMOVE LAWNMOWER FROM CARTON
•
Remove loose parts included with mower.
•
Cut down two end corners of carton and lay end
panel down flat.
•
Remove all packing materials except padding
between upper and lower handle and padding
holding operator presence control bar to upper
handle.
•
Roll lawn mower out of carton and check carton
thoroughly for additional loose parts.
2. SETTING UP YOUR LAWNMOWER
IMPORTANT
Unfold handle careful, do not pinch or damage control
cables.
•
Lift and unfold upper handle to desired height
and pull two levers on both sides to lock upper
handle. Refer to Service and Adjustments
section
CAUTION
Unfold the handle carefully to avoid pinching
and damaging the control cables.
•
Remove any packaging material from around
the control bar.
•
Your handles may be adjusted for your mowing
comfort. Refer to Service and Adjustments
section of this manual.
3. ASSEMBLE GRASS CATCHER
•
Put grass catcher frame into grass bag with
rigid part of bag on the bottom. Make sure the
frame handle is outside of the bag top.
•
Slip vinyl bindings over frame.
•
Fix the cover on the frame with screw and
locknut.
•
Tighten with screwdriver and wrench.
NOTE: If vinyl bindings are too stiff, hold them in
warm water for a few minutes. If bags get wet, let it
dry before using.
3. ASSEMBLE ENGINE STARTER ROPE
•
Pull the starter handle back to the hook ring on
upper handle. Assemble the rope into the zone
starter ring through the opening of hook ring
•
Always keep starter rope in hook ring during all
mowing work.
WARNING
To start the engine safely, position yourself at the
back of the upper handle. Keep the rope in the middle
of the hook ring while starting and mowing. Starting
the engine away from this position is risky and could
cause severe injury to body parts.
