11. Hold blade control bail against upper handle

(Fig. 31) and pull starter rope several times to
blow out loose carbon.

12. Install baffle and muffler cover to engine

mounting plate (Fig. 29). Torque muffler
capscrews to 155 in.–lbs. (13 ft.–lbs.) (18 Nm).

13. Tip mower on its right side.

14. Attach blade driver and blade with blade nut.

See BLADE INSTALLATION.

15. Torque blade nut to 560 in.–lbs. (47 ft.–Ibs.)

(63 N

m).

Note:

Blade nut must be replaced after
installing and removing four (4) times.
Locking feature will decrease and nut
could loosen if not replaced.

16. Tip mower upright.

17. Reconnect spark plug wire when maintenance is

completed.

18. Fill fuel tank with clean, fresh gasoline/oil mix.
