Assembly Instructions

Handle Tube

Pad Driver or Brush

Tools Needed:

•

(2) 7/16" Wrenches

1 .  Before assembling the handle tube, ensure the handle

clamp is positioned with the hole of the tube facing the
motor . (Fig . 1)

2 .  Slide the handle tube through the handle clamp . (Fig . 1)
3 .  Hold the yoke vertical and insert the tube over the yoke .

(Fig . 1)

4 .  Turn the handle tube so the insert "Lavex" faces the

motor . Align the holes on the tube and the yoke, and
place the two screws in the holes with the heads toward
the wheels . (Fig . 1)

5 .  Place the safety nuts on the screws with the flat part

facing the screw . Tighten by hand, then hold the head
with one 7/16" wrench and tighten the nut with the other
7/16" wrench . (Fig . 1)

6 .  Tighten the adjusting knob clockwise at a desired handle

position until the handle clamp does not slip when tilting
the machine . (Fig . 2)

7 .  Connect the motor cables, making sure the insulating

jacket is over the conductors .

8 .  The power cord support hook can be moved up or down

by loosening and tightening the Allen screws .

1 .  Unplug machine, secure handle tube in vertical position, and lay down the machine, turning it over its wheels until the underneath

side of the machine is vertical and fully exposed .

NOTE:

Place a clean towel on the floor to keep the switch box from scratching .

2 .  Position the three slots of the pad driver/brush over the three lugs of the pad driver .
3 .  Turn the pad driver/brush COUNTERCLOCKWISE as far as it will go .
4 .  To remove the pad driver/brush, disengage the clutch plate slots from the pad driver lugs by turning CLOCKWISE .

NOTE:

If you encounter difficulty removing, apply foot pressure to the pad driver/brush until it moves .

5 .  To place a pad, lay it down on the floor first, tilt machine over its wheels so that the machine goes over the pad, center the drive and

pad, then place the machine down over it .

NOTE:

The scrubbing pad can be used with the pad driver or with the scrubbing brush .

NOTE:

If the pad reduces in size to 1/4" thick, it should be changed . Any thinner and the pad driver could be damaged .

6 .  Your floor machine is now ready to be used .
