RDS and Text Setting
RDS, standing for the Radio data service, adding a basic data and text service to FM radio.
Along with the audio, small amounts of text and data are transmitted with the radio signal, and can be
picked up and processed by radios have an RDS decode built-in. Such radio receivers can display
this information. RDS text may describe the station’s format or it may show the song title and artist.
RDS display mode
Press the PLAY/PAUSE button on the front panel or the DISPLAY button on remote control to select
available display mode of station name (PS), PTY, frequency, RDS clock time(CT). Default mode is PS
if available, otherwise frequency.
PTY search
Press the STOP button on the front panel or the PTY button on the remote control shortly to toggle the
PTY SEARCH mode ON/OFF, and to search the selected program type with display of “PTY
SEARCH ”. Default OFF. When PTY SEARCH mode is ON, and the selected type is match with the
current program type, the ‘PTY’ is shown. If no or a different PTY code is transmitted, the ‘PTY’ icon
blinks. When PTY SEARCH is taking action, press the PTY button can turn off the PTY SEARCH
mode.
Press and hold this button to toggle the PTY selection mode ON/OFF. When the PTY selection mode
is on, select PTY program type by volume knob on front panel. The selected program type name is
displayed 29 options feature (SPORT, INFO, VARIED, ROCK, POP, …..) are possible. Default NEWS.
If no button is pressed for 5 sec, the radio returns to normal mode again.
There are two text display in disc playback. One is text in CD TEXT disc, another is ID3 text in MP3 disc.
CD Text
CD Text is extra text information which can be encoded on Audio CDs. CD Text is a extension of the
existing audio CD standard that adds the ability to store text and graphical information like album titles, artist
names, and song titles on a music CD. This information is stored in such a way that it doesn't interfere with
the normal operation of any CD players. The unit can decode and display this text on LCD display. You can
choose the displaying style in JOG menu.
ID3 Text Information in MP3 song
You can add ID3 text information into a MP3 file. This unit can display the song title, artist and album when
playback a MP3 file. You can choose the displaying style in JOG menu.
