If you see this issue…

… take this action

The angles output by the TruAngle do not 

appear to be accurate.

Make sure the TruAngle is level before you 

power it On 

(Page 6)

When mounting the TruAngle, make sure 

the base is completely tight to the top of 

the tripod, adapter or staff you are using; 

and does not rotate. To aid in this, tighten 

down the friction lock so the entire unit 

will not rotate.

When turning the unit, the gears seem to 

grind.

Loosen the friction lock until it moves 

smoothly.

After referencing the TruAngle, the data 

strings are not being output. The display 

is updating when rotated but now it is 

flashing.

The ZERO/BS button was inadvertently 

pressed. Cycle the Power Off/On, and 

re-reference the unit and try again.

The display reads “ind” and will not go 

into the Zero backsight mode.

Rotate the TruAngle through 360 degrees 

until the display starts to flash “0.00”.
