IDE HDD Block Mode :

The Default setting is “Enabled”. This feature enhances the hard disk

performance by making multi-sector transfers instead of one sector per transfer. Most IDE drives,

except the very early design, have Block Mode transfer feature.

Primary IDE Channel :

Select “Enabled” to activate the on-chip IDE interface.

Master Drive PIO and Slave Drive PIO :

There are six options namely “Auto”, “Mode 0”, “Mode

1”,“Mode 2”, “Mode 3” and “Mode 4”. The default setting is “Auto”. When it is set to “Auto”, the BIOS

will automatically set the mode to match the transfer rate of hard disk. If the system won‘t boot up

when set to “Auto”, set it manually to the lower mode (e.g. From Mode 3 to Mode 2). All IDE drives
