General
- Information signs attached to the underground distribution system must be
observed.
- Information signs must be kept clean. Missing or illegible signs must be replaced.
- Regular maintenance and cleaning are essential for safe operation and must be
performed by trained professionals (see also Chapter 11).

The operating company is responsible for installing, operating and maintaining the
fixtures.
The operating company is responsible for the following:
- Preventing danger to the life and limb of users and third parties.
- Ensuring operational safety.
- Precluding downtime and environmental impact due to incorrect handling.
- Ensuring that protective clothing is worn when working with or on the
product.
- Ensuring that users receive instructions in the proper operation of the
underground distribution system.
