Wing to Frame Installation
Assemble Wing onto Center Frame by sliding Wing
Guide Roller into Yoke in the rear. Place Spacers on
each side of the Spherical Bearing in the front,
positioning it between the frame lugs. Insert 1-3/4
Threaded Pin, place Thick Washer and hand tighten
Slotted Nut. Insert 1/2-13 x 2-1/4 Bolt through frame lugs
and into Threaded Pin Tab. Secure with Locknut.
Torque
Slotted Nut initially to 350 Ft-Lbs. If nut slot is not
aligned with slotted pin hole in Threaded Pin, tighten
nut up to 400 Ft-Lbs to align next slot to install 1/4 x
2-1/2 Cotter Pin.
NOTE
While the machine is still supported, bleed the air from
the hydraulic system by cycling the hydraulic circuit
completely a minimum of 5 times. (The system will hold
8-10 gallons of hydraulic fluid depending on model.) After
the circuit is bled leave wing cylinders extended so that
Wing Fold Links can be installed.
CAUTION
Attach Wing Fold Links to Wing Frame and Hydraulic
Cylinder.
Attach the Wing Fold Links to the Wing Frame by placing
the Links between the two Frame Hinge Lugs. Place the
1-1/4 x 1-3/4 Bushing between the Links. With Wing
Frame Hinge Lugs, Wing Fold Link and Bushing holes
aligned, insert a 1-1/4 x 7-5/16 Pin into the Wing Frame
Hinge Lug.
Place 1-1/4 Flat Washers on the end of the
Pin and secure with 5/16 x 2 Slotted Pins.
Attach the hydraulic cylinders to the Wing Fold Links by
placing one Link on each side of the Hydraulic Cylinder
Rod End Clevis. Insert 1-1/4 x 9 Pin into the Wing Fold
Links and the Hydraulic Cylinder. Place a 1-1/4 x 1-7/8
Bushing on each side, followed by a Wing Link Roller on
each side. Place 1-1/4 x 1-7/8 Bushing on each end of
the Pin and end to the Wing Link Roller. Secure with 5/16
x 2 Slotted Pins.
Figure 2-12: Hydraulic Leak Detection
Escaping hydraulic fluid can cause serious
personal injury. Relieve system pressure before
repairing, adjusting, or disconnecting. Wear
proper hand and eye protection when searching
for leaks. Use cardboard instead of hands (See
Figure 2-12.) Keep all components (cylinders,
hoses, fittings, etc.) in good repair.
